AZ Martinez showcased the underrated beauty of Cebu by taking viewers island-hopping to Nalusuan and Caohagan.

On "Sparkle Under the Sun," which aired on "24 Oras" Monday, the Cebuana Sparkle actress shared that what makes Cebu special is "you get both worlds."

"You have the beach, you have the mountain, thirty minutes nasa dagat ka na. I think that's one of the things that I would say bakit sobrang ganda 'yung Cebu aside from the food, of course," she said.

From Marigondon Port in Lapu-Lapu City, AZ took the boat to Nalusuan Island, which is about 30 to 45 minutes away.

Nalusuan is a popular stop for island-hopping, teeming with water activities such as jet skiing, fish feeding, and diving. Its entrance fee is P300 for a day trip.

"Itong Nalusuan Island po, protected marine sanctuary po siya. Meron po tayong about more than 10 diving spots, meron po tayong protected white clams. Sa may docking area meron po tayong best snorkeling area [where] you can do fish feeding," shared Ceferino Yrog-Yrog Jr. of Nalusuan Island.

Ten minutes away from Nalusuan is Caohagan Island. For only P75 pesos, tourists can enjoy its fine white sand and sand bar. Visitors can also choose among a wide range of seafood for paluto, such as crabs and clams.

"Sa beach namin ang income dito para sa mga tao talaga dito. May programa kami, medication, education, at iba pa. Marami," said Ranilo Abayan of Brgy. Caohagan.

Tourists can also bring home beautiful quilted trinkets made by the women of Caohagan.

"Sa Caohagan Island sobrang na-enjoy ko 'yung mga tao inaalagaan talaga nila 'yung island nila dito and sobrang welcoming din nila sa toursits. Ang ganda dito, parang nakakalimutan mo yung ingay sa Manila," shared AZ.
