'Born to Shine' stars impress as they perform show's soundtrack live
The stars of "Born to Shine" impressed with their vocal skills as they performed live the series's original soundtrack at GMA Network's headquarters on Tuesday.
According to Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Zephanie, Olive May, Naya Ambi, Gaea Misha, and Mitzi Josh — who make up the P-pop girl group Yumi in the series — sang their original song, "This is Our Time."
Their rival girl group, which includes Olive May, Chloe Redondo, Angelika Santiago, and Aaliyah de Gracia, also performed the song "Runaway."
Zephanie, who plays Jeni Sicat in the series, likewise sang the theme song "Aking Liwanag" at "Kwento Ko."
The "Born to Shine" OST album was launched on Tuesday, per Carampel's report. It is now available on all music streaming platforms.
"This time pwede na nilang baunin kahit saan sila pumunta kasi ma-d-download na nila sa streaming platforms and we're just so happy na nagkaroon po ng ganitong effort 'yung show, 'yung production to produce these songs for all our supporters," said Zephanie.
Michael Sager, for his part, brought some kilig with his rendition of "May Gusto na 'Ko Sa'yo," an original song by his character Nate Lim.
"Parang nararamdaman ko 'yung experience kung paano maging singer because of this album launch. Hindi lang bilang Nate Lim, bilang Michael na rin so nakakatuwa lang that we're able to bring our talents apart from the characters into real life," he said.
Vina Morales, on the other hand, gave an impressive performance of "Ang Sandali."
Viewers can look forward to more exciting happenings in the series, including the brewing rivalry between Jeni (Zephanie) and Megan (Olive).
Olive even shared that she has received some hate messages due to her kontrabida role, all of which she takes in stride.
"Actually meron po, parang 'yung mga fans ni Jeni Sicat talaga nakikita ko sa DMs ko na galit na galit sila sa 'kin. Pasensya na. I mean, it's effective naman siguro kaya siguro naiinis sila," she said.
"Pero meron din mga nagtatanggol kay Megan kasi naiintindihan din nila si Megan. Balance naman po," added Zephanie.
"Born to Shine" airs at 2:30 p.m. from Mondays to Saturdays on GMA Afternoon Prime. —CDC, GMA News
