Teddy Corpuz recovers stolen iPad following home break-in
Teddy Corpuz has now recovered his iPad that was stolen by a man who recently broke into his home.
In a Facebook reel uploaded on Thursday, the "It's Showtime" host and Rocksteddy frontman shared that baranggay officials went to their house to inform him that the suspect’s sibling had surrendered the item.
“Kaninang umaga, mga bandang 4.30 ng umaga, pumunta 'yung mga barangay sa bahay namin. In-inform nila kami na sinurrender nung kapatid nung magnanakaw 'yung item na nakuha sa atin. So 'yung iPad sinurrender sa amin,” he shared.
Teddy said that the suspect had called his sibling and revealed where he hid the iPad.
“So nakuha natin 'yung iPad kaninang umaga,” Teddy added.
Teddy expressed his gratitude to the barangay officials for their response and coordination, noting that they were the ones who retrieved the iPad.
However, he noted that the other stolen items, such as jewelry, have not been recovered.
“Nabalik na ‘yung iPad pero ‘yung mga singsing hindi na nabalik. Ok lang ‘yun kasi mura lang naman ‘yun. Hindi naman totoo ‘yung mga singsing na 'yun,” he said.
Ending his video, Teddy reminded the public to always be vigilant.
According to Jamie Santos' report on "Saksi" on Thursday, the suspect stole gadgets and other items worth P90,000
Based on CCTV footage, a man climbed onto the balcony of Teddy's unit located on the second floor around 3 a.m. He entered the house through a window and opened the door.
The suspect spent almost 30 minutes inside the house searching for and taking items of value, including cash, jewelry, a charger, and a tablet.
According to the Quezon City Police District - Station 14, Teddy and his family were sleeping on the third floor when the incident happened.
The police conducted an investigation after the incident was reported. In coordination with the purok leader in the area, authorities were able to identify the suspect, who had a prior record related to robbery and violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
