Glaiza De Castro reflects on role as Pirena as 'Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre' ends

After “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre” came to an epic end, Glaiza De Castro took to social media to reflect on her iconic role as Pirena.

On Instagram, Glaiza shared a carousel of photos featuring moments from the fantasy series and expressed gratitude for being given the opportunity to portray Pirena once again after a decade.

“Hindi sapat ang 20 slides para ibahagi ang mga priceless memories ko sa show na ‘to,” she wrote.

She admitted that she did not expect to bring the character back to life after 10 years and was thankful that Pirena was given a “beautiful redemption arc.”

“Di ko iniexpect na muli ko siyang isasabuhay at salamat dahil nabigyan ng magandang redemption ang character niya. Kung alam niyo lang pinag gagagawa ni Pirena dati,” Glaiza said.

The actress thanked her fellow cast members, both old and new, for making her return to the world of Encantadia memorable. She likewise praised the production team and creatives behind the show for their hard work and dedication throughout the series.

Glaiza extended her gratitude to for making not only the cast’s wishes come true, but also the dreams of loyal viewers who have supported the franchise since 2005. She said the fans remain the true heart of the fantasy world, acknowledging generations of supporters who grew up dreaming of becoming Sang’gres themselves.

“Mula sa ashti niyong nag world tour, na dedz, nabuhay na nang muli at naging bathaluman, e correi diu,” she said.

Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre” aired its final episode on May 8 after a three year run. The final episode offered viewers a glimpse into the fate of each character as the story reached its conclusion.

In the finale, Pirena, alongside her siblings Alena (Gabbi Garcia), Danaya (Sanya Lopez), and Amihan (Kylie Padilla) all became a Bathulaman of their respective gems.
