Rico Blanco shares why he accepted acting gig in 'Project Baby'

Rico Blanco is a leading man in the upcoming film, "Project Baby."

The OPM legend talked about his latest project on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Thursday.

"Took me a while to believe that I'll be in a movie poster like that," he said. "It's with Sue Ramirez, an incredible actress, super cool. And it's directed also by my idol growing up, Eric Quizon."

Rico said that he accepted the acting project because he was trying to push himself to do other things.

"I was actually forcing myself to leave my house and do stuff other than just performing in shows," he said.

When the movie was offered to him, Rico learned that the script was written by Direk Joey Reyes.

"Nagustuhan ko 'yung story and when I found out it was Sue na they were eyeing, sabi ko, nakita ko 'yung chemistry na puwedeng mangyari. So I got excited. And I think 'yung pinaka mabilis na yes when I found out na si Direk Eric Quizon [ang mag-di-direct]."

According to Rico, Sue's character is an independent, empowered woman who wanted a baby but didn't want a relationship. That's when she gets involved with Rico's character, who is an artist and a common friend.
