Christian Bautista says Jillian Ward, JL Toreliza bring fresh energy on 'The Clash Teens'

Christian Bautista said working alongside Jillian Ward and BGYO's JL Toreliza on “The Clash Teens” has brought fresh energy and perspectives to the judging panel.

In an interview with GMA News Online, the Kapuso Balladeer praised his fellow panelists, saying their insights have added depth to discussions and even helped shape his own views while evaluating contestants.

“Ang ganda rin ng mga insights nilang dalawa na talagang fresh din at bago na nakakatulong din sa akin,” Christian said, referring to Jillian and JL.

According to Christian, each judge approaches performances differently, allowing the panel to assess contestants from various angles rather than relying on a single point of view.

“Kapag ako nakapakinig ng isang performance, ‘yung buong musical history ko maga-adapt sa kung ano ‘yung kinakanta niya. So there's sort of a connection immediately. Pero syempre iba ‘yung sa kanya (JL), iba rin ‘yung kay Jillian,” he said.

These varying opinions, Christian explained, become especially important when contestants deliver equally strong performances.

“Ang challenge na lang doon, paano kung parehong magaling? ‘Yun ang mahirap talaga. So ‘yun ang talaga matinding diskusyon,” he said.

“The Clash Teens” will premiere on June 7. Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz will return as Clash Masters. — LA, GMA News
