Lea Salonga, Roberta Flack pay tribute to late singer Peabo Bryson
Lea Salonga and Roberta Flack, two of Peabo Bryson's many musical collaborators, have paid tribute to the veteran singer following news of his death.
On Instagram Stories, Lea said she is “heartbroken” by Peabo’s passing.
“Fly with the angels, friend,” she wrote. “Rest in peace and power.”
Lea and Peabo collaborated on several songs, including "I Have Dreamed" and "How Wonderful We Are."
Meanwhile, Roberta shared a clip of her past performance of "You Are My Heaven" with Peabo on Instagram, honoring his legacy and their friendship.
“You were filled with such great talent, plus being a wonderful human!” Roberta wrote.
“We will forever Love you and listen to your gorgeous voice and be lifted and soothed by it,” she added.
Roberta and Peabo collaborated for the songs “Born to Love,” “Tonight, I Celebrate My Love,” and “Live & More.”
Peabo died on Tuesday, two days after suffering from a stroke.
Born Robert Peapo Bryson in Greenville, South Carolina, the singer received multiple Grammy nominations from 1992 to 2000 for his Disney collaborations and soulful duets.
He won two Grammy awards for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for “Beauty and the Beast” (with Celine Dion) in 1993, and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for "A Whole New World" (with Regina Belle) in 1994.
