Josh Ford now back to work after eardrum surgery

Josh Ford is now back to work after his successful eardrum surgery.

In Aubrey Carampel’s report in “Balitanghali” on Friday, the Kapuso star said he has now obtained a clearance from his doctor to do light activities but it will take him a couple of months for his complete healing and recovery.

Josh also said he underwent myringoplasty for his perforated eardrum as well as polyps removal.

“I had an ear surgery for my perforated eardrum ang ginawa po ng doctor, myringoplasty. Tinakpan lang po nila para I can finally swim or shower normally at mas better po yung hearing ko. And yung pala sa nose ko naman po is for my sinus. I had a polyps removal,” he said.

According to Cleveland Clinic, myringoplasty is a surgery to close the hole in a ruptured eardrum.

Josh has a perforated ear drum after the tragic car accident that took the life of his fellow actor Andrei Sison and two others back in 2023.

The former “PBB Celebrity Collab 1.0” housemate was the only survivor of the crash.

In an August 2025 interview, Josh told GMA News Online that he is still saving up for his ear drum surgery.

"I'm still trying to save up for the surgery and if I have time sana magawa ko na rin," he said. "Kasi it takes a while for it to heal. Mahaba 'yung recovery period niya."

"Hopefully soon, magawa ko na. Blessings for more income, more money para lang magawa ko na," he added.

In a March 2025 episode of PBB, Josh told house guest Gabbi Garcia that he has two holes in his ear drum and he is slowly losing his hearing in the left ear. The doctor initially said there's a chance it might heal by itself, but in a checkup before entering PBB, he was told he would need surgery.

To protect his ear, Josh wears an earpiece when showering or swimming.
