Rapper Pio Balbuena appears as guest star on 'The Master Cutter'

Rapper Pio Balbuena appeared as a guest star on “The Master Cutter.”

According to Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras,” Pio played a rockstar named Raki, who is one of Atoy’s (Dingdong Dantes) leads in a case to find the missing women in Barangay Tabang Lupa.

In the episode, Atoy dressed up in a rockstar disguise to confront Raki.

Pio was also featured in the official theme song of the series “Mamang Sastre” by Garrett Bolden. He had a rap verse in the catchy and upbeat song with lyrics by Dominic Zapata.

The song is simple, yet it carries a deeper meaning, as it reflects a person’s role in offering solutions to problems, fighting for justice, and helping the community.

Pio is known for the songs “Magkano,” “Lakompera,” and “Republika ng Tambay," among others.

"The Master Cutter" airs weeknights from Monday to Friday at 8:15 p.m., on GMA Prime, and streams online via Kapuso Stream and GMA Play. Global Pinoys can also tune in via GMA Pinoy TV.
