Katrina Halili accepts trophy for Kris Lawrence at PMPC Star Awards for Music 2026

Katrina Halili accepted the Male R&B Artist of the Year trophy on behalf of Kris Lawrence at the PMPC Star Awards for Music 2026, held at Teatrino Promenade in Greenhills on Thursday.

Kris won the award for his song “Within” but was unable to attend the ceremony, and asked Katrina to receive the recognition in his place.

“Dahil wala po si Kris Lawrence, ako po ang nautusan. Bilang wala namang po tayong taping, ayan,” Katrina said.

“Isang karangalan po para sa akin na tanggapin po ang PMPC Star Awards na ito sa ngalan ni Kris Lawrence na hindi po makakadalo ngayong gabi. Taos puso po ang kanyang pasasalamat sa PMPC para sa pagkilalang ito at sa lahat ng patuloy na sumusuporta sa kanya,” she added.

Katrina read a message from Kris, where he thanked those who believed in him.

“At sa lahat po ng sumusuporta sa mga vlogs and showing their love for Katie. Maraming maraming salamat po,” she read.

Katrina and Kris welcomed their daughter, Katie, in 2012. Two years later, the couple parted ways.

On Wednesday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” it was announced that Kris is courting Katrina again following their renewed connection. —Carby Rose Basina/JCB, GMA News
