Shaira Diaz addresses weight gain, clarifies she is not yet pregnant

Shaira Diaz has opened up about her weight gain and struggles with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)—now called polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS)—while also clarifying that she is not yet pregnant.

On Facebook, Shaira acknowledged that she had gained weight and said she has been trying to lose it but admitted that the process has been difficult.

“I am aware that I gained weight, and I’m not proud of it. I’m trying, but it’s really hard to lose weight. I’m dealing with metabolic and hormonal issues related to PCOS, and I’m sure many can relate to this struggle. Insulin resistance, hormonal imbalances, and more—look them up so you can learn more,” she said.

The Kapuso star also asked people to be more mindful of comments about other people's bodies, saying they may not know what someone is going through.

“I hope we can all be a little kinder and more sensitive. You never really know what someone is going through. If you have nothing nice to say, then please just keep it to yourself instead of leaving hurtful comments. It’s just sad because some people are so quick to insult others, as if they know everything that’s happening in someone else’s body and life. What did I ever do to you? You all act so perfect,” she said.

She also addressed comments and misinformation suggesting that she is pregnant.

“To those spreading false information, I am not yet pregnant. Thank you to everyone who got excited, but you’ll hear it from us if that day comes,” Shaira said.

She ended her post by reminding her followers that kindness can make a difference.

“I’m only human. I gain weight, I struggle, and I have insecurities too. I’m doing my best not to let it affect me, but again, I’m only human. A little kindness goes a long way. God bless you all. #StopBodyShaming,” she said.

PCOS, now called PMOS, is a common hormonal and metabolic disorder that can affect menstrual cycles, fertility, weight, and long-term health.

Shaira is currently in Finland with EA Guzman for work and vacation.

The couple tied the knot in August 2025. They got engaged in 2021, but only publicized it in 2024.
