Fifth Solomon looks back on coming out on PBB

Fifth Solomon turned emotional when he recalled his coming out story on "Pinoy Big Brother."

"When I came out, it was also scary," Fifth said in Filipino on the video podcast.

The actor and entrepreneur said he watched his coming out video two years after it happened. Fifth also said he grew up in a Born Again school, so it was hard to come out.

"PBB was happy but it was not always happy," he said. "Your mental and emotional capacity will be tested."

Fifth admitted that he was scared to come out at first, but now sees that it was worth it.

"At least, I came out on television, fabulous," he said.

"That time, I came out as bisexual, but I'm not really bisexual. I'm like full-blown gay," Fifth said.

He added that he came out as bisexual because he was "playing it safe" for the sake of a future showbiz career.

"There would be opportunities to make a love team, be in showbiz."

Despite the challenges of coming out, Fifth said a lot of doors were opened for him.

"Your Honor" host Chariz Solomon and Fifth's older sister said their father called her after his coming out.

Learning about their father's disappointment, Fifth said it did not matter because they were not close and grew up without him.

Fifth's twin brother, Fourth, said he knew about his sexuality even before coming out.

"I was scared for Fifth because it's not common to be in that situation right," Fourth said.

He added that after Fifth's coming out, he saw him become a better person.

"It went well," Fourth said. "It went well because Fifth, his identity leveled up, his artistic qualities came out 100 percent." —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
