Actress Erlinda Villalobos passes away
Erlinda Villalobos has passed away. She was 84 years old.
The veteran actress' passing was announced by her family on Facebook. No cause of death was named.
"It's never easy to say goodbye to someone who has been such a special part of our lives. Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that she no longer have to suffer or feel any pain," the family wrote.
The family continued to thank their beloved lola for the love, memories, and moments they shared.
"You will always hold a special place in my heart, and your memory will forever live on in our family," they said.
"Rest peacefully, Lola. You will always be a part of me, and no amount of time will ever erase the love we have for you," the family added.
Further details regarding the viewing and funeral will be shared soon.
Villalobos was best known for her role as the title character in "Manang Biring," directed by Carl Joseph Papa. The film is a comedy drama about a feisty but terminally-ill old woman who has accepted her death. She then receives a letter from her estranged daughter, who will return home for the holidays. Biring then goes to great lengths to prolong her life and give her daughter a merry Christmas.
"Manang Biring" won Best Picture, Best Music, and the Champion Bughaw Award at the Cinema One Originals Digital Film Festival.
Villalobos also appeared in various films and series. She appeared on "Lolong" as Teodora and Lola Huling in "Alyas Robin Hood."
