MANILA, Philippines - A complaint was filed against movie director Celso Ad Castillo before the Quezon City Prosecutorâs Office for allegedly misrepresenting himself as the producer of a film he directed in order to get a permit to exhibit from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). Castillo is facing three counts of falsification of public documents. The case stemmed from the complaints of Blanquita Garces Sioson, executive producer of Honey Blancaâs Movie Entertainment, who claimed that she engaged the services of Castillo to write the script and direct the movie âSanib 2." Sioson said that Castilloâs services was formalized through the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) that stated she would produce the movie while Castillo would write the script and direct the film. The complainant said that she later learned that the film was booked for showing on Nov. 5 by World Asia Production and a permit to exhibit was issued by MTRCB to Castillo on Oct. 2, 2008. Sioson discovered that Castillo submitted an application for permit and undertaking dated Sept. 9, 2008 and a letter dated Sept. 26, 2008 to the MTRCB stating that he is the producer of the said film. After learning that Castillo misrepresented himself, Sioson immediately filed a complaint before the MTRCB against the director. The National Cinema Association of the Philippines (NCAP), who prepared the booking schedule of the film, immediately cancelled the said booking after learning about the complaints against Castillo at the MTRCB. - GMANews.TV
