Most siblings can't stand being with each other for very long — not Janice and Gelli de Belen. They actually enjoy each other's company, even when in the studio on weekdays hosting Sis, a GMA morning talk show that's celebrating its fifth year this week. The show probably wouldn't have lasted if they didn't enjoy each other's company, along with co-host Carmina Villaroel, whom the De Belens have sort of adopted as a sister. Carmina calls Janice “Ate Janice," while Janice and Gelli call Carmina “Mina," as her close friends usually do. "We're happy," Janice, the older De Belen, says in Filipino." Gelli and I are with each other almost all the time. With the three of us together we're happy. We're always kidding and teasing each other." Of course, Janice and Gelli are really sisters, which could be either be a plus or a minus. As it turns it, it's working to their benefit. And they've known Carmina ever since they were kids in the limelight. “It’s in our history — we're sisters and my connection with Mina," Janice says. For their longevity in showbiz, they all credit their showbiz youth. Working in showbiz at such a young age has taught them how to be independent, resilient, and hard-working. For the longevity of their friendship, their secret is a shared sense of humor. "What we like about each other, is the funny-ness’ of everyone," Janice says. Carmina shares her favorite traits in Janice and Gelli that make the three of them click: “I like Janice whenever she dances even without music. She's not even aware she's dancing. If you see her do that, even when you're in a bad mood, you'll find yourself laughing, but she not even trying to make you laugh. And Gelli — what I like about her is that she's dedma, she doesn't get affected easily by things. Like when I'm in a bad mood, she would just ignore me, and not say anything that could get us quarreling. Maybe that's why we get along well. We don't really need to say anything. We can sense each other's moods. And when we're really tired, we encourage each other to just try to make each other laugh." Their shared sense of humor shows on cam, which really add to the fun format of the show, featuring guests — celebrities or not — chatting lightly about a wide variety of topics, in between songs and dances. "The three of us blend together," Janice says. "I don't have to pretend (when I'm on cam)," says Gelli. "I'm very comfortable with (my co-hosts). I don't have to adjust too much because I've known them for a long time." "We have a lot of fun times on Sis," Gelli adds. "We have games, we have guest singers I guess it's the variety of people we meet and get to watch, aside from Carmina and Janice, that's fun." The three don't have any one particular episode that's their favorite. "Because all of them are okay for us," Carmina says. All three agree, however, on one dream episode — featuring the comedy team of Tito, Vic, and Joey. -GMANews.TV with reports from iGMA.TV
