‘Kamikazee’ lead guitarist deported from UAE

MANILA, Philippines - Nearly two months after he was held for drug possession, the lead guitarist of a Filipino band was ordered deported to Manila, an online news site reported Thursday. Khaleej Times reported that Led Zeppelin Tuyay, lead guitarist "Kamikazee," was scheduled to be deported from the United Arab Emirates. "Tuyay confessed to the prosecution that he used marijuana, but never shared it with anyone," Ahmad Bajunaid of the Philippine Consulate-General in Dubai said. Bajunaid said the prosecution decided to deport him to Manila after reviewing his case. Tuyay was detained at the Dubai International Airport last December 4 on charges of illegal possession of prohibited drugs. He arrived in Dubai Dec. 4 with his band "Kamikazee" to perform at the Rakrakan Fest 2008 at the Dubai Festival City. He was arrested at the airport after marijuana residue was found in his luggage.- GMANews.TV
