Martin urges Jomari to clarify split with Pops

MANILA, Philippines – "Can you believe it?" These were the first words Martin uttered when he was interviewed by "Startalk" regarding his views on the Pops-Jomari breakup. When he learned about the breakup, what was his first reaction? "Of course I wasn't happy," admitted Martin. "She was like four years na kasama siya sa relationship nila, but I was very sad for Pops kasi she was very sad." Did Martin learn about the breakup in the papers or did Pops call him up? "Pops called me first," said Martin. "I thought may kasalanan ako, but she said that there had been an incident with Jomari and she decided to call it quits and she does not know why." Up to now, Pops had no idea on why she and Jomari broke up. "She kept on blaming herself and she kept on asking me if it was because she did this, didn't do this," Martin shared. "It was during that time that I was trying to understand that she was in the dark and that I was trying to lighten her darkness a little bit." Rumor has it that money had something to do with the breakup. When asked about Martin's opinion on this, he said, "I hope not! I see no reason to accuse money or baka sinasabi ng iba na matapobre si Pops or something because mas marami siyang trabaho. Or Jomari is known for living in the house, eating her food, enjoying her air-conditioning. But yung mga accusations na iyon, e, sinasabi nila na 'Sobra ang charge ni Martin, sobra ang charge ni Pops'... But it wasn't because of that." "I just think there was just too much between the two of them," added Martin, regarding the fact that Pops was line producer and Jomari was producer of their recent concert. However, Martin noticed that Jomari didn't show up after the concert. "I just received a very long and beautiful text from Jom saying thank you for the concert, et cetera," Marten said. "Just about thanking me for the show. But when Pops asked me where Jom was... so even to this day, where he went. After Valentine's, that's when I found out that he came back, they have spoken, and that they broke up." Pops was supposed to go on tour but it obviously didn't materialize because of the breakup. "So I said, Pops I'm with you, wherever you go, I'll go, whatever you do, I'll do," added Martin. "I don't think I can work anymore with Jomari – I don't have anything against him – but this doesn't seem right." So it means he has no ill feelings for Jomari? "I have no bad words to say," answered Martin. "I would like any guy that Pops is happy with – not just happy with – but happy, because she is with." Revelation Regarding Pops and Martin's kids Robin and Ram, Martin revealed that his sons were not close to Jomari. "If I can quote my children," Martin suddenly added, "my children said, 'He never talks to us.' All I know is that they were not as close as some people think. Yeah, my kids are okay and they tolerate anybody who we label as special in our lives. They are very good at accepting that." Now, how is Martin helping Pops move on? "The most immediate thing that I have done is to help change the atmosphere," shared Martin. "Believe it or not – Pops, Robin, and Ram all three of them asked me to come to the house and help them rearrange their furniture. First time in our separated lives that I had been asked to do this." With these things happening, would it possible for Martin and Pops to come back together? "As long as we don't wear a ring, we are free," Martin said. "Nothing is impossible, but I don't see it. I know my place now in Pops's life. I know that there a lot of guys better than me, more deserving, more better-looking than me." Message to Pops? "Don't overdo anything," said Martin. "Don't overtext, don't overcall, don't overblame yourself. To Jomari, if you're gonna go, delete all question marks first so you can consider yourselves friends.
