Kapuso young actress Glaiza de Castro reveals that she was inspired by the story of Eva Castillo – ang mahigpit na karibal noon ni Regine Velasquez during their amateur singing career. Sa press conference ng SRO Cinemaserye presents: The Eva Castillo Story, sinabi ni Glaiza sa iGMA na napanood daw niya ang “Roots to Riches" special ni Regine Velasquez, and she was affected and inspired by the story of Eva. "Napanood ko talaga," Glaiza tells us, sharing na marami siyang aral na nakuha sa snippets of Eva's life na naipakita sa Roots to Riches special. "Na-inspire ako to work talaga nang maayos." In fact, Glaiza reveals na bumalik siya muli sa pagtugtog at pag-practice ng gitara niya: "'Yung singing career ko rin kasi, napabayaan ko na. Iba talaga 'yung nagagawa ng music, iba 'yung nagagawa ng tinig."

Nung dumating 'yung time ng Kung Aagawin and itong SRO, [sinabi ko sa sarili ko na] kailangan kong pagbutihan…Kasi, otherwise, mababakante na naman ako, eh. This is my chance.

And watching Roots to Riches, and then later on, playing the younger version of Eva Castillo for SRO, sinabi ng dalaga na sobra siyang na-inspire kaya balik ulit siya pagpa-practicet. Right now, more of an outlet ang musical side ni Glaiza, writing songs that please her. "Kung mayroong magka-interes, eh 'di ayos, 'di ba?" Pero, for her, it's focusing more on who she really is. Lalo pa't she's showing two very different sides of her to the public right now: ang kinamumuhiang si Gladys Andrada sa Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin at ang api-apihang si Eva sa SRO Cinemaserye. Glaiza is also inspired to work dahil tatlong buwan din umano siyang napahinga matapos ang fantaserye na Gagambino with Dennis Trillo. She used the time off wisely naman, taking part in a number of independent films—one of which was the award-winning Astig in Cinemalaya Cinco, as well as enrolling in the online classes of University of the Philippines. "Nung dumating 'yung time ng Kung Aagawin and itong SRO, [sinabi ko sa sarili ko na] kailangan kong pagbutihan," she tells us. "Kasi, otherwise, mababakante na naman ako, eh. This is my chance." Dugtong pa niya, "Every opportunity that I get, talagang kino-consider ko as my last. Para, alam mo 'yun, todo-todo na." To end, Glaiza hopes na ma-inspire din ang mga taong nanonood ng SRO Cinemaserye presents the Eva Castillo Story. "Sana suportahan niyo po talaga itong SRO. Napakagandang istorya, talagang mai-inspire kayo [at] iiyak kayo. Talagang sobrang colorful ng buhay ni Miss Eva," pag-anyaya ni Glaiza. SRO Cinemaserye airs every Thursday nights, pagkatapos ng GMA Telebabad. - Jason John S. Lim/Loretta Ramirez, iGMA
