6cyclemind bags 2 top SOP Music Awards


6cyclemind came out as the biggest winner in GMA's 2006 SOP Music Awards — bagging Viewers’ Choice for Artist of the Year and Viewers’ Choice Song of the Year for “Sandalan,” the group's first awards ever. The awards, staged by GMA's weekly variety show SOP, held the awarding rites on Sunday at Center Stage, Mall of Asia. “Many people expected Kamikazee to win [for Artist of the Year],” lead vocalist Ney Dimaculangan was quoted by Philippine Entertainment Portal (www.pep.ph) as saying. “Actually, lahat ng doon sa category [deserving naman] eh... Hindi namin ma-explain kung bakit, di ba. Siguro they like the song and nakaka-relate sila. Yeah, that’s it. Ganoon ka-simple lang naman ‘yon, di ba — of tthey like the song, susuportahan nila. And siyempre flattered naman kami na sinusuportahan nila.” The other winners: • Pupil - Breakthrough Artist (Group) • Rico J. Puno - Revive '06 Award for "Ang Huling El Bimbo" by Ely Buendia, Pupil bandleader who did the song for his old group The Eraserheads the Revive ’06 award for Rico J.
