Paris Hilton arrives in Manila, tweets 'Mahal ko kayo'

"Mahal ko kayo! :)" This was the first message of fashion-media celebrity and hotel heiress Paris Hilton as she arrived in Manila shortly before midnight Sunday. In messages posted on her Twitter account upon her arrival, Hilton said she felt "so welcomed" when she saw fans waiting for her at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. "Mabuhay Philippines! I just arrived, thousands of fans waiting at the airport when I walked in. I feel so welcomed here! Mahal ko kayo! :)" she said. At about 3 a.m. Monday, she tweeted she was "so excited" to be in Manila, and thanked friends for bringing her to the Philippines. "So excited to be here in Manilla! So beautiful!" part of her tweet read. But it was also reported that Hilton lost two media players during her flight. The report also said that it was not clear if Hilton lost her gadgets in the plane or upon arrival at the NAIA. [View full report below.]

The heiress, who runs a business empire of Paris Hilton merchandise such as beauty products, is in the Philippines for business. Earlier reports said she is also expected to meet boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao during her stay in the Philippines. On the other hand, it remained unclear if she would meet with President Benigno Aquino III. As of Sunday afternoon, deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said on government-run dzRB radio she still had to check if a meeting with Hilton was on Aquino's schedule. — RSJ, GMA News
