'Sex and the City' actress Sarah Jessica Parker goes to Taguig

For shoppers, the summer heat continues to rise as Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker hits one of the newest malls in town.

 

Parker, who became famous as Carrie Bradshaw in the HBO television series, will be in Manila to open the SM Store at the SM Aura Premier on May 17.

 

"It's official! SARAH JESSICA PARKER will open The SM Store 'Aura'!!! Spread the word! Share, re-post and re-tweet! #SarahJParkerLoveToShopSMStore," SM announced on Facebook, describing the opening as "the fashion event of the year." 
 

The announcement was met with excitement online, with mostly positive comments on Facebook. "The most influential person we know!! Hahaha! Probably responsible for the fashion choices we've made these past 14 years!!!" Facebook user Jeannie Yee commented.

 

The SM Aura Premier shopping mall is part of the Bonifacio Civic Center, which will also houses offices that are related to public services for Taguig, according to the mall's Architect Willy Coscolluela.

 

Earlier, SM had posted teaser photos online, asking netizens to guess which Hollywood star would love to shop at their new store.

 

They also launched a "Love to Shop" promo from May 9 to 12 to get participants to repost one of the teaser photos on Facebook and Twitter with their guess. Winners would receive a P1,500 gift certificate, according to the poster from SM.

 

Parker will also appear in the season finale of the US television show "Glee" along with "American Idol" Season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez. —Carmela G. Lapeña/KG, GMA News
