“Going public about such a painful experience requires courage and guts. Ai-Ai has that. Many women prefer to hide their humiliation,” pahayag ng kongresista. "While I commiserate with the situation of our abused women, we nonetheless call on all Filipinas to know and assert their rights. We have only ourselves to blame if we choose to be silent despite the availability of remedies for the redress of our grievances,” ayon kay Lopez. Umaasa rin si Gerard Seno, secretary general ng The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP), na makahuhugot ng lakas kay Ai-Ai ang ibang inaabusong kababaihan. “She is one brave woman. Ai-Ai’s courageous act of coming out in the public and narrate her ordeal will embolden other Filipinas with the same fate but are poor and who felt powerless to come out in the open and confront a growing social problem,” aniya. Batay umano sa monitoring ng National Committee on Women ng  Associated Labor Unions (ALU), affiliate ng TUCP, umabot sa 12,948 ang kaso ng Violence Against Women (VAW) na naitala sa Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) ng Philippine National Police. “Eight years after the Republic Act 9262 or Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) law was passed, violence against women continues to persist as one of the country’s pervasive social problems,” pahayag ni Sis. Eva Arcos, vice presidente ng ALU at general secretary ng national committee on women. -- RP/FRJ, GMA News
