Renz Fernandez has long been prepared to take on any role. Basically, he has been preparing for an acting career his whole life. He said he took inspiration from his parents, Rudy Fernandez and Lorna Tolentino. "Sabi ko gusto ko ring maging katulad nila one day... mukhang masaya yung ginagawa nila," he said. Once he was done with his studies, Renz took acting workshops. How many? "Naku! Marami na. Countless. Mga 20 or 30 times? Iba-ibang teachers." The actor thinks he can summon the best off his acting genes if he trains himself through workshops. Coming from a showbiz family, Renz recognizes how much his parents' careers helped them thrive. "Kasi 'yun rin nagpakain sa 'kin eh; 'yun yung nagbigay ng bahay sa 'kin... so gusto ko ring bumawi eh. Gusto ko rin magcontribute sa industry kung saan nanggaling yung parents ko... sa kung sinong nagpakain sa 'kin." Even though Renz wanted to immerse himself into showbiz ever since, he was only able to delve into the craft fully when he graduated. This is because he promised his dad he would finish his studies prior to entering showbiz. "Sabi niya kasi 'yun 'yung gusto niya eh," and so the young actor fulfilled his father's dream first before he worked on his own. Now, he is fulfilling that dream by taking on a role in Prinsesa ng Buhay Ko. The show is actually Renz Fernandez' second project in GMA. His first was a story in Magpakailanman where he worked with his brother, Mark Anthony Fernandez. After this short stint, the actor is very thankful that GMA handed him a teleserye--one that features him as one of the main actors. The Kapuso newbie is going to play the character Luis Grande. Luis is Nick Grande's (Aljur Abrenica) kind-hearted half brother. He is the only member of the Grande family that Nick gets along with, and the two of them grow really close as the story progresses. Conflict arises when the brothers fall for the same girl, Princess (Kris Bernal). How will this romantic dilemma play out? Find the answer by catching Prinsesa ng Buhay Ko which will start on September 23.
