Janno Gibbs mounts 'Bangon Kaibigan' campaign for Yolanda victims

 
What started as a personal project for singer-songwriter Janno Gibbs has become a network-wide campaign as various Kapuso artists gathered together to give their time, talent and effort for the "Bangon Kaibigan" music video.

The said music video was launched in Sunday All Stars last December 15.

"Ang mensahe ng kanta ay 'wag mawawalan ng pag-asa kahit na gaano tayo kalubog o natapakan. Kaya natin 'to, lalo na ang Pilipino," said "Bangon Kaibigan" composer, Janno Gibbs.

He added, "As a songwriter and artist, hindi naman ako mayaman para magdonate ng malaki [sa Yolanda victims], so ito 'yung way namin para makatulong. Layunin ko sa pagsulat ng kanta ang ma-uplift ang spirit ng mga tao."

According to Janno, "Bangon Kaibigan" may be downloaded via iTunes and OPM2GO. Signed "Tibay ng Pusong Pilipino" shirts which were used in the music video will also be auctioned. All proceeds will go to the GMA Kapuso Foundation. -- Samantha Portillo/Bochic Estrada, GMANetwork.com
