Glaiza de Castro is up for a change this year.
Last January 27, Glaiza chose to have a meaningful birthday feast for the kids of Child Haus, an institution in Quezon City that gives shelter to kids who have cancer and have no place to stay while undergoing treatment in Metro Manila.
Kumbaga, maibalik man lang ‘yung blessings na ibinigay sa akin last year.”
Glaiza was not alone in giving the kids a memorable afternoon. Derrick Monasterio, her co-star in Vampire ang Daddy Ko, surprised the celebrator and the kids with a short performance.
Derrick’s special message to her “Ate Glaiza”:
Sana maging stable siya in terms of financial purposes and sana maging healthy ang pamilya niya.”
After Derrick’s surprise, everyone sang the birthday song to the blooming celebrator.
The kids of Child Haus asked their Ate Glaiza to sit down while they come up on stage and perform their surprise number. Glaiza couldn’t contain her emotions when the kids belted out the song “Thanks to you”, which is one of her favorite songs. Each gave a “Thank You” letter to Glaiza.
“Malaki talaga iyong koneksyon ng mga bata sa akin e,” she said.
When asked why she chose to celebrate in Child Haus, she answered, “Parang naisipan ko na lalong-lalo na sa karamdaman na mayroon sila, dito man lang makipagbigay ng hope or entertainment sa kanila.”
