Kapuso actor Rocco Nacino started out as a showbiz hopeful. Three years into his career, he has become one of the most versatile actors of this generation.

Behind Rocco’s current success is the loving guidance and support of his parents, who were the one who inspired him to chase his dreams.

Rocco recalled,“Sila nga ang nag-suggest na sumali ako sa StarStruck. I was taking acting workshops back then. Last day ng auditions, pumunta ako sa GMA at saka ko lang sinabi sa kanila.”

“Noong nag-call back ng top 100, top 80, top 60, top 20 to the final 14, tinanong nila ako kung sigurado ako. Sabi nila, susuportahan nila ako, but they could only give so much kasi hindi naman kami sobrang yaman,” added Rocco.

The Kapuso leading man also mentioned that his parents were always there during eliminations. They keep him grounded, and are the first to know about his career decisions.

Rocco finished as Second Prince in StarStruck V. Since then he has appeared in numerous teleseryes, including GMA Afternoon Prime hits, The Good Daughter, Yesterday’s Bride and Unforgettable. He has also headlined Bayan Ko and Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas.

He has also showcased his talents in both mainstream and independent films including Biag ni Lam-Ang, Madaling Araw, Mahabang Gabi, I Luv U, Pare Ko, My Lady Boss and Pedro Calungsod: Ang Batang Martir. He was awarded by the PMPC Star Awards, Golden Screen Awards and Box Office Entertainment Awards for his breakthrough performance in the 2012 film, Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa.

So far, Rocco has portrayed a wide array of characters from a saint, con-artist, mayor, gay, hopeless romantic and many more. What other roles would he like to explore?

Rocco answered, “Siyempre, action-drama. There are a lot of roles pa na puwedeng paglaruan kaya sabi ko sa sarili ko, I might be doing this for a long time.”

“Sa next few projects ko siguro, gusto ko malayo [iyong roles] sa isa’t isa. I’m done with the pretty boy acting. I wanna go into serious acting,” added Rocco.

He also would not mind playing the villain again. He said, “Actually, na-try ko na ring mag-kontrabida na comedy sa My Lady Boss. Nag-enjoy ako. Peg ko doon si Kevin Spacey sa Horrible Bosses.”
