Filipina singer and internationally acclaimed stage actress Rachelle Ann Go performed the song "I Dreamed A Dream" from "Les Miserables" at West End Live, an outdoor presentation of songs from popular musicals at Trafalgar Square in London on June 20 and 21.

Rachelle, who was praised for her role as Gigi Van Trahn in the 2014 revival of the musical “Miss Saigon” prior to playing Fantine this year in the latest West End revival of "Les Miz," received cheers and applause after her emotional rendition of the iconic song.

“Les Miserables” has just finished its first week, but theater enthusiasts has been raving about the performance of the Filipina artist.

According to previous reports, Rachelle received a standing ovation from the audience on the first night.

“Rachelle was superb as Fantine! Saw Patti Lupone, Sierra Boggess and quite a few other people in this role, but Rachelle played it the most convincing. Very vulnerable with a crystal clear and big voice. I thought that this role, played by an Filipino actress, gave it an really interesting twist. You really saw that she was desperate to keep her purity and dignity,” shared British fan and theater enthusiast Samuel Zernig.

He added, “Also they adapted the classic Fantine look for her. She has a brown wig, which works really great. In addition to it, she is really good at dying. People around me started weeping. No wonder she got an instant standing ovation! Go and see it!” — Bianca Rose Dabu/BM, GMA News
