Ryan Agoncillo is Kuya Driver in Cash Cab Philippines

Kapuso host and actor Ryan Agoncillo hits the road as a driver in the Philippine edition of Cash Cab, the British game show where unwitting passengers are offered a chance to win cash prizes if they can answer general knowledge trivia question. 

Agoncillo will be hosting 13 episodes of Cash Cab Philippines, which will begin airing on AXN on December 22. 

In the show, Agoncillo will be driving a taxi that looks fairly ordinary. However, instead of being driven to their destination, passengers will be quizzed by the Kapuso host. A correct answer earns them money...but three mistakes means they get booted out of the car. 

The "mobile game show" is a hugely popular franchise, with more than 40 editions across the globe. The series has been adapted in China (2012), Indonesia (2009), Japan (2008), Taiwan (2009), and Thailand (2015), not to mention the umbrella show for the region Cash Cab Asia, hosted by Oli Pettigrew. —AT, GMA News

Cash Cab Philippines premieres in a double episode on Tuesday, December 22, at 8:50 p.m. with an encore on Thursday, December 24, at 9:15 p.m. on AXN.
