After death of Matteo Guidicelli’s dog, vet clinic says it’s ‘handling the issue’

A day after actor Matteo Guidicelli posted on social media that his dog "Alfano" died while in the care of Vets in Practice, the Alabang-based clinic said on Thursday it was handling the issue.

"Management is handling the issue," a representative told GMA News Online in a phone interview, refusing to answer more questions and give further comments. "May kausap na po."

On the clinic's Facebook page, some netizens left negative reviews, but older entries included five-star rating and accounts of good experiences with the clinic.

"Thank you VIP (Vets in Practice) for the time & effort you guys gave to my dog Bella. She passed away this morning after almost a month of battling Distemper. Kahit it was late and closed na kayo and parang may party pa yata kayo na pupuntahan that time e inaccomodate nyo parin kami. So thank you po ulit," Junski T. Bernal wrote three months ago.

Another user, Kat Ya, left a less than favorable review, "Matteo (G)uidicelli's dog died because of your negligence. (Four) men who forced to process a surgery without consent. So heartless! A simple puss turned into a tragic death the dog fought for his life but because of your staff was strong enough to kill the dog!!!!"

Facebook user Jen Toquero Giron replied to Kat Ya and said they've been going to Vets in Practice for two years and said they have "never experienced anything bad." Giron praised "Doc Richard and Doc Bea" and said Guidicelli should have named the attending veterinarian in his post.

In an Instagram post, Guidicelli said that Alfano was taken to Vets in Practice (Alabang) to have the pus in his elbow checked.

However, Guidicelli said that four men, including the vet, "barbarically pinned him down as the vet tried to aspirate puss out of his elbow."

Since posting, over 5,000 Instagram users have expressed sympathy by liking the post. —KG, GMA News
