Kris Aquino calls Duterte’s failure to show up for one-on-one interview an ‘epic snub’

Kris Aquino on Saturday called President Rodrigo's failure to show up for a one-on-one interview with her in Davao City as an "epic snub."

"Humble & realistic enough to admit it was an epic snub..." Kris, sister of former President Benigno Aquino III, said in an Instagram post.

The post also showed screenshots of GMA News Online's story where netizens praised Kris for pushing through with the hosting of the National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Summit organized by GoNegosyo in Davao City despite Duterte's failure to show up for the interview.

Kris went ahead and spoke at the program about Duterte missing the event.

"Alam n’yo po, I was excited just like you. I thought this would be an opportunity. Pero minsan ang mga first date hindi natutuloy," she said, before quipping: "President Duterte pinaghandaan kita, nagdiyeta ako nang dalawang linggo. Twenty six na lang ho ang bewang ko ngayon. Sisiguraduhin ko po na maging 25 para sa next time na pagkikita natin."

Malacañang had said that Duterte's migraine forced him to skip the event on Friday.

Duterte had just arrive from a two-day visit in Malaysia. He arrived at 4 a.m. Friday in Manila.

Malacañang said Duterte's migraine was brought about by his several trips abroad. He made at least eight official trips abroad since September. —ALG, GMA News
