Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2016 Ambassadress Mocha Uson on Wednesday slammed the motion to boycott the festival because of her.

Uson on December 21st appeared in Malacañang and announced that she will help promote the MMFF through her social media accounts. Uson has over 4 million followers on Facebook.

"Natural lang po na magkaroon ng bangayan sa social media pagdating sa iba’t ibang issue at mga opiniyon natin, ngunit pagdating po sa pagtulong sa ating bayan, dapat po tayong magkaisa," she told the press during the briefing at the palace.

Following the announcement of her role as an ambassadress, #boycottMMFF was used online to protest her participation. Other users added pejorations like #MochangTanga to their posts.

Uson posted on Wednesday the screening schedule of "Saving Sally" and the trailers for "Die Beautiful" and "Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 2" to accomplish her role as an ambassadress for the MMFF.

She has also interviewed Mylyn Jacobo, one of the subjects for "Sunday Beauty Queen." —ALG, GMA News
