Following the success of his action-drama series "Alyas Robin Hood", Kapuso prime time king Dingdong Dantes will now take on a show with a similar tone.
Except this time it will be based on real stories.
Dingdong will host GMA Network's new docu-drama "Case Solved", which will narrate the stories of landmark Philippine crime cases.
"Case Solved" will feature reenactments of resolved crimes, their effects to the people involved, and th consequences faced by the criminals, with insights from experts and demonstrations of legal procedures.
The show aims to inform viewers on ways to protect loved ones, and the actions they can take if they find themselves a victim of a crime.
While he admitting that "Case Solved" was unlike any show he had ever done, Dingdong said that he saw the similarities between "Case Closed" and "Alyas Robin Hood."
"Yun din ang isang objective ng Alyas Robinhood, [na] malaman ng mga tao na hindi mo naman kinakailangan na maging superhero para tumulong sa kapwa," Dingdong said during a press conference on Tuesday.
"With regards to this show naman, the fact that it's informing people, the fact that it's entertaining, in a way, public service na yan and it's helping people. In a way I can see the similarity," he added.
Impressed
Dingdong said that he was impressed by the show, and immediately wanted to be part of it.
He found it relevant because everyone wants to keep their loved ones safe.
"Siguro sa landscape ngayon...concerned tayong lahat sa paligid natin and we always want to be vigilant with everything that's happening. Syempre importante yung mga mahal natin sa buhay, ayaw natin na mailagay sila sa ganoong sitwasyon," DIngdong said.
He added that he personally wanted the show to feature the murder of racing driver Enzo Pastor, who was shot to death in 2014.
However, the show's producers said that "Case Solved" would only deal with resolved cases and the Pastor case was still ongoing.
"Case Solved" will premiere on February 18. It will air on Saturdays, after "Eat Bulaga." — DVM, GMA News
