Veteran actor Spanky Manikan succumbs to cancer

Veteran actor Spanky Manikan succumbed to cancer on Sunday. He was 75.

Manikan was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in August last year, according to a report on Unang Balita on Monday.

Manikan starred in GMA Network's adaptation of the Korean hit drama "My Love From The Star" but left the series last July due to health reasons.

He was known for his roles in Lino Brocka's "Maynila sa Kuko ng Liwanag" and "Bona," as well as Ishmael Bernal's "Broken Marriage" and "Himala." —Marlly Rome Bondoc/ALG, GMA News
