Singer, OPM legend Rico J. Puno laid to rest
Singer and OPM legend Rico J. Puno has been laid to rest.
Puno’s remains were brought to the Makati City Hall Thursday morning, and followed by interment rites at 1 p.m.
On Wednesday night, Celebrities and relatives paid tribute to the veteran singer, comedian, and TV host at the Santuario de San Antonio, Forbes Park, Makati City.
In a Facebook post, Rox Puno said he has to witness the interment of his father, whom he described as his "best friend" and "superhero."
Puno passed away on October 30, after undergoing a regular checkup days earlier and was not allowed to leave the hospital since then.
Norma Japitana, Rico J. Puno's manager for 35 years, said Puno underwent heart surgery in the past and got a pacemaker last August.
Puno is known for his song hits including "Kapalaran", "May Bukas Pa", "Macho Gwapito" and "Magkasuyo Buong Gabi." —Jamil Santos/LBG, GMA News
