Stef Prescott will play kontrabida

Great actors are made, not born. Stef Prescott proves this adage true as she dives into unknown waters and tries to convince the TV-viewing public that she can be the next big kontrabida. After the reality talent search show StarStruck: The Next Level, Stef Prescott steps out of her teen-queen image and gives serious drama a try. “Nakakapanibago kasi right after StarStruck may Boys Nxt Door, tapos ngayon puro mga veterans [na] yung kasama ko," Stef says. Stef admits that being away from her StarStruck batchmates is quite a challenge, but she’s thankful for being able to work with different kinds of people: “Marami na akong natutunan. I get their advice, napapanood ko yung takes nila, kung paano sila mag-emote so it’s a good change naman." In the newest soap presented by Sine Novela entitled My Only Love, Stef plays a character that opposes her real life persona. “I play Tiffany Moreno. Kapatid kong buo si Bianca [King] tapos kapatid ko sa ama si Rhian [Ramos]," she explains. Stef also says that Tiffany, being the middle child among the Moreno sisters, possesses the ‘black sheep complex:’ “Sobra, as in papansin ako and feeling ko mas mahal ng Daddy ko si Cindy [Rhian Ramos]. Parang nag-rerebelde ako." In essence, Tiffany is out to make Cindy’s life miserable throughout the duration of the show. “Marami kayong makikita na inaapi namin si Rhian at saka lagi akong nag-seselos," she says. Stef is honored despite being cast as a kontrabida in her first major soap. She also feels fortunate to be a part of this ambitious project: “Sobrang privileged kasi ako yung pinaka-bago dito. Tuwang-tuwa ako na nakasama ako kasi it’s a big break for me." Though the public always naturally feels negative toward kontrabidas, Stef is optimistic that people know how to separate reality from fantasy. “Sa tingin ko [yung] mga viewers ngayon nakakaintindi sila kesa sa dati. Sa akin, ipakita mo lang na hindi [ganoon] ang totoo mong ugali," she says. Stef reveals that with this sudden change of environment, she is having some difficulty with the acting part itself. “Maraming tumutulong sa akin, at saka pinapansin ko yung mga kontrabida sa TV. Kinukuha ko yung tawa nila yung glares nila," she relates. Aside from this, she also asks the help of co-stars Sherilyn Reyes and Bianca King: “[Si Bianca], tinutulungan niya ako mag-deliver ng lines in an evil way. Si Ms. Sherilyn, since parati kaming mag ka-eksena, lagi siya nag-susuggest." With the help of great actors, Stef’s new package as the next big kontrabida is truly something to watch out for: “They can expect na different talaga ako dito."
