5 things to expect from ‘Unbreak My Heart’

Who else can’t wait for “Unbreak My Heart?”

The much-awaited and historic collaboration of GMA Network and ABS-CBN is almost here, and the series has already got us feeling every emotion all at once.

Here are five things to expect from this exciting series, but don’t worry, we’re keeping it spoiler-free.

1. Picturesque Europe

It has been known that Switzerland and Italy serve as the backdrop for the series, but the cinematography makes the location even more beautiful.

Plus, the fact that the series shows Filipinos’ realistic struggles in these foreign countries makes the story even more interesting.

2. Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap still have undeniable chemistry

Although “Unbreak My Heart,” is no doubt a lot heavier than their previous projects, Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap still provide some kind of magic on screen.

In one scene, their characters Rose and Matt have an intense argument about their past relationship, leaving Rose in tears. It’s totally different from their cute love stories in the past.

3. Gabbi Garcia shows a new side of herself

Gabbi Garcia is known as one of the bubbliest celebrities in the business, but her role as Alex, also called Xandra, is not what we’re used to and shows off her range as an actress. She even speaks Italian.

Alex is a heartbroken, cynical young woman living in Italy. Different from the Gabbi we know, Alex sobs, curses, gets drunk, throws up, and jumps into relationships. We can’t wait to see what else her character has to offer.

4. Joshua Garcia will make you emotional

Joshua Garcia is undeniably one of today’s top actors, and his role as Renz in “Unbreak My Heart” proves just that.

In one scene, Renz gets drunk and then publicly rants about his difficult life and financial challenges. He cries hard, slaps himself, and attempts to jump off a bridge before getting saved by Rose. In this scene alone, Joshua is a vision on screen and you just can’t look away.

5. The first few scenes alone will get your heart pumping

Action? Drama? A few laughs? Time jumps? Fight scenes? Adventures that aren’t your typical tourist spots? A dramatic car chase? Gut-wrenching dialogue? Kilig? Character plot twists?

The first parts of the show has already got all of that, and we can’t wait for more.

Directed by Emmanuel Quindo Palo and Dolly Dulu, “Unbreak My Heart” premieres on May 29 and airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 9:35 p.m. on GMA Telebabad, Pinoy Hits, I Heart Movies, and 11:25 p.m. on GTV. It is also available on GMA Pinoy TV and TFC.

The advance streaming will be on May 27, 9:00 p.m. on gmanetwork.com, iWantTFC and Viu. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
