MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against former child actor Niño Muhlach after the sports utility vehicle he allegedly drove hit the right side of a taxicab early Monday morning. Muhlach, whose real name is Angelo Jose Rocha-Muhlach, 36, and a resident of 140 N. Domingo Street, Cubao, Quezon City, was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property with physical injuries. The QC Traffic Police filed the charges against the actor based on the complaint of Ernesto Narciso, a resident of 2260 Avocado St., Camarin, Caloocan City and driver of Jamonette taxi (TXJ-337) The investigation revealed that the incident took place around 3:15 a.m. last Monday at the intersection of Panay and Dr. Garcia Avenues. Records indicated that Narcsio was driving his taxi along Dr. Garcia towards Quezon Avenue from Scout Chuactoco when it was hit with the Mitsubishi Montero wagon (XTU-342) being driven by Muhlach. Muhlach was reportedly traveling along Panay Avenue from Don Roces Avenue towards Scout Chuatoco Street when the accident took place. The front portion of Muhlach’s wagon collided with the right side portion of Narciso’s taxi, causing damages to both vehicles. Owing to the collision’s strong impact, the taxi was forced to turn counter-clockwise, plowing into the pavement before it hit a street sign. Muhlach’s wagon, on the other hand, veered to the right then rammed into the perimeter fence of house No. 5 which was also damaged. Since the cab driver sustained injuries, Narciso was brought to the Capitol Medical Center where he undertook treatment. In his statement, Muhlach claimed that the taxi suddenly came out of the secondary road without stopping and that he hit the cab on the passenger side. - GMANews.TV
