Barbie Forteza says Alden Richards is caring as a co-star and friend

Barbie Forteza and Alden Richards are set to star together in “Pulang Araw” with David Licauco, Sanya Lopez, and more of our favorite Kapuso stars.

According to Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras,” Friday, the project marks Barbie and Alden’s first time working together for a teleserye.

Talking about Alden as a co-star, Barbie said, “Talagang suporta. Pagka may kailangan na umpisa pa lang ng eksena, kailangan ko nang umiyak, automatic kay Alden ‘yon na hahawakan niya ‘yung kamay ko.”

[Very supportive. When I have to cry in the beginning of a scene, it’s an automatic response for Alden, he would hold my hand]

“Ramdam ko rin ‘yung care niya sa ‘kin bilang ang tagal na naming magkaibigan kasi talagang tinatanong niya, ‘Ano, kumain ka na ba? O eto, may pagkain ako dun sa tent.’ ‘Yung mga ganoon, ‘yung ganoong closeness,” the Kapuso Primetime Princess said.

[I can feel his care for me since we have been friends for a long time, he would ask me, ‘Have you eaten yet? Here, I have food in my tent.’ Things like that, that kind of closeness]

It can be remembered that Barbie won Actress of the Year for her performance in "Maria Clara at Ibarra," while Alden was named the Box Office King for "Five Breakups and a Romance" at the 52nd Box Office Entertainment Awards early this month.

Much excitement surrounds “Pulang Araw,” as it is dubbed the biggest historical action-drama series of 2024.

Barbie and Sanya will play half-sisters Adelina and Teresita. Alden, meanwhile, will play Barbie's half-brother Eduardo, who has American blood. David will play Hiroshi, a Japanese soldier. The actor will be studying the Japanese language for the role.

“Pulang Araw” will also star Dennis Trillo as the series’ antagonist.— Carby Basina/CDC, GMA Integrated News
