Archie Alemania pleads not guilty to Rita Daniela's acts of lasciviousness complaint
Actor Archie Alemania pleaded not guilty before a Bacoor City court in relation to the acts of lasciviousness case filed against him by actress Rita Daniela.
According to a "24 Oras" report Monday, the court also granted the gag order request of Alemania's camp to prohibit publicly discussing the merits of the case.
Alemania's camp declined to comment after the hearing.
Daniela, who faced Alemania during arraignment, was accompanied by her legal counsel, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque.
"I feel bad. I mean, ako, I know my truth and I know God is with me and kahit anong mangyari, kahit gaano pa katagal, lalabas at lalabas 'yung totoo," said Daniela.
In an order dated March 18, the Bacoor City Municipal Trial Court in Cities Branch 2 issued an arrest warrant against Alemania after prosecutors indicted him, having found prima facie case with a reasonable certainty of conviction. They also recommended that Alemania be penalized under Article 335 of the Revised Penal Code.
Daniela filed an act of lasciviousness complaint against Alemania in October 2024, alleging that he kissed and touched her without consent and repeatedly made inappropriate remarks against her after a Thanksgiving party the month before in September. During the party, Alemania also allegedly made obscene remarks towards Daniela.
In December 2024, Alemania submitted a counter-affidavit at the Bacoor Hall of Justice in response to Daniela's complaint. His camp declined to comment, but the prosecutor said the counter-affidavit denies the allegations Daniela made.
