'KPop Demon Hunters' singer Ejae to release debut single ‘In Another World’ this October

"KPop Demon Hunters" singer Ejae is dropping her first song as a singer this October!

In a letter on Instagram, the songwriter extraordinaire and singing voice of Rumi on the smashing Netflix movie announced that her debut single, “In Another World,” is coming out on October 24.  

In her letter, Ejae is ecstatic at the love and support she has been receiving lately, calling the last few months "a crazy ride."

“I mean I was just on ‘SNL!!!’ I’m so humbled and grateful for the love I’ve received as a songwriter and the singing voice of Rumi from ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’” Ejae said.

She also admitted that the fast exposure “has been strange, exciting, and truthfully a little scary.”

“People keep referring to me as an ‘artist’ or a ‘star’—which is everything 11-year-old Ejae dreamed of, but over the years, I became comfortable behind the scenes and I didn’t think I was meant to be an artist,” EJAE said.

But she realized she does not need to box herself into the traditional view of being an artist.

“To me, an artist is someone who uses their art to express themselves, and songwriting is my art,” she said.

“For years, writing has been my therapy, my way of coping, celebrating, making sense of the noise in my head,” Ejae added.

“Along the way, I wrote some songs that never found the right home. I’ve decided I want my artist project to give life to those songs, so people can laugh, dance, or cry with me and the amazing collaborators who helped create them,” she said.

According to Ejae, “In Another World” is the "perfect place to start.”

“Writing this song helped me through a hard time, and I hope that sharing it can help others too,” she said.

Ejae ended her letter with gratitude. “Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. I know my journey is still being written, and I am so grateful to anyone who is willing to tune in.”

Ejae is best known for being the singing voice of Rumi in the hit film “KPOP Demon Hunters.” She also wrote some of the film’s top songs, “Golden,” “Your Idol,” and “How It’s Done.”

Aside from her work on the film, Ejae is the songwriter behind some top K-Pop songs like “Psycho” and “Birthday” by Red Velvet, “Armageddon” by Aespa, “Last Waltz” by Twice, and many more.
