The boys took the spotlight during last Friday’s Performance Night, where Robby Navarro, Rye Estrada, and Toffer Rei got good rap from the judges. “Para akong nanonood ng concert" was Ogie’s comment on Robby’s rendition of “Whenever, Wherever, Whatever," while Toffer was commended for “representing rock really well." Elliot Andal’s “Sana Ikaw Na Nga" was “Talagang sintunado," according to Wyngard, while Dio Paulo may have had the voice, but “Angels Brought Me Here" was the wrong song choice. True enough, these two were voted out, leaving 10 guys to compete for the next elimination. “There’s no regret," shares 28-year old Dio from Bacolod. “Hindi naman po judges [lang] talaga yung nagde-desisyon, kung hindi yung masa po. Nagpapasalamat din po ako sa GMA at saka sa lahat ng taong sumusoporta sa akin." Twenty four-year old Batangeño Elliot vows not to stop singing despite his elimination from the contest. “’Cause I believe that lahat ng bagay may dahilan, and I believe that there is something [more] para sa akin." The 10 male contestants left are: Daryl Jett Celis, Elizalde Camaya, Joselindo Pimpinio Jr., Kristoffer Rei Tragico, Ramon Jose Chavez III, Roberto Navarro Jr., Ryan Estrada, Sherwin Bayangan, Walton Zerrudo, and Warren Antig. Saturday, May 24, 2008: Girls' Performance Night It was the girls' turn the next day to take over the microphone. Wyngard praised Penelope Matanguihan for being the “most improved" contestant, saying that she was a “revelation," while Gretchen Espina was commended for “going out of her comfort zone." Regene Ong was also given positive remarks when she sang “Fever." Wyngard even said that she’s “very sexy!" Unfortunately, two girls also had to be voted out: Drizzle Muniz and Bev Ejercito. Drizzle and Bev sang “My Immortal" and “Crazy" respectively, and although they didn’t get too much negative feedback from the judges, apparently, the public thought they didn’t deliver as expected. Despite a tearful goodbye, 18-year old Davaoeña Bev says that she will forever cherish the friendships she made during the competition. The 10 remaining female contenders are: Angeli Mae Flores, Carol Anne Leus, Gretchen Stephanie Espina, Jayanne Bautista, Jenifer Rawolle, Meryl David, Penelope Matanguihan, Regene Ong, Sue Ellen Cubing, and Vrenilyn Villaflor. - iGMA.tv
