'The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping' trailer unveils deadly 48-tribute Quarter Quell

The first full trailer for "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping" has been released, offering a preview of the Second Quarter Quell.

The trailer opens with the high-stakes dread of Reaping Day in District 12, set 24 years before Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) ever stepped into the arena.

As a "Quarter Quell" celebration, the Capitol has doubled the stakes: each district must send four tributes instead of two, resulting in a staggering 48 tributes forced into the arena.

It also introduces Joseph Zada as a young, defiant Haymitch Abernathy, Coriolanus Snow, portrayed by Ralph Fiennes, Caesar Flickerman, played by Kieran Culkin, and Effie Trinket, portrayed by Elle Fanning.

Based on the new novel by author Suzanne Collins, "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping" is set 40 years after the events of the prequel "The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes," and 24 years before Katniss Everdeen enters the arena.

In the original "Hunger Games" trilogy, Haymitch is the mentor of Katniss and Peeta Mellark.

"The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping" will be released on November 20.
