Warner Bros announces 'Game of Thrones' film about Aegon's conquest

We're officially getting a "Game of Thrones" film!

According to an IGN report, "Game of Thrones: Aegon's Conquest" was included in Warner Bros.' "2027 and beyond" slate presented at the CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

The title is still considered provisional and may change in the months or even years ahead, a Variety report said. No director, cast, or writer has been revealed so far.

Based on the "Fire and Blood" book written by George R.R. Martin, Aegon's Conquest is the story of how the Targaryen dynasty began in Westeros.

Aegon Targaryen and his sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys, flew their dragons Balerion, Vhagar, and Meraxes to bring the seven kingdoms under the Iron Throne.

"Game of Thrones" is the television adaptation of Martin's book series "A Song of Ice and Fire." It ran for eight seasons from 2011 to 2019.

Two prequel series followed: the "House of the Dragon," which is now on its third season, and "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," which premiered earlier this year. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA News
