American fitness influencer Connor Murphy dies after drowning in Thailand lake -report
American fitness influencer and YouTuber Connor Murphy died after drowning in a lake in Thailand, Thai media reported.
According to Khaosod English, Murphy drowned at a luxury residential property in the province of Samut Prakan.
The report said that Murphy was found about 20 meters from the shore after divers searched the lake for 30 minutes.
Initial examination showed no signs of assault and his body was sent to Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital by the police.
A village staff member who recorded a video of the incident said Murphy had changed his behavior and then ran into the water.
Meanwhile, the house owner said Murphy and his girlfriend had been renting the property for three months. The police found the house to be vandalized with paint all over the furniture, decorations, and electrical appliances.
Murphy's girlfriend said he had acted normally before his death and she had never seen him use drugs while they were living together.
Police had found two unused syringes and several unidentified white pills in a waist bag in Murphy's car. Further investigations, toxicology, and autopsy are still underway.
Murphy was known for his fitness, bodybuilding, and social experiment videos. As of this writing, he has 2.36 million YouTube subscribers and 379,000 Instagram followers. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
