Sue Ramirez mourns passing of mom Chit Dodd
Sue Ramirez is mourning her mother, Concepcion "Chit" Dodd, who passed away on Monday, August 17.
In a now-expired Instagram Story, the actress shared a photo with her mom.
"Mahal na mahal na mahal kita," Sue wrote with a white heart.
Another Story showed her inside a car while it was raining.
"Kasabay kong umiyak ang langit," Sue said with a broken heart emoji.
Sue's ex-boyfriend, Negros Occidental Third District Representative Javi Benitez, posted a tribute on his Facebook page.
Javi shared a screenshot of Chit's message, showing her holding a bouquet of flowers.
"This is how I will remember Mommy Chit... flowers in her arms, that radiant smile, beautiful and completely herself," he wrote.
"Make no mistake, she was not soft. She had strong opinions and stronger principles, and she fought for the Filipino worker like it was personal. So when she smiled at you like this, you knew you mattered," Javi said.
Javi also said he brought her flowers whenever he could. He also shared his condolences and prayers to Chit's loved ones.
Chit was a labor leader, and served as the Vice President of the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP), a federation of labor unions in the Philippines that advocates for the rights and well-beings of workers.
In January, Sue called for blood donations for her mother who was about to undergo open-heart surgery, according to a GMA Entertainment report. Chit also contracted pneumonia before her surgery.
A week later, Sue said her mother's procedure was done and she was in recovery, and continued to ask for prayers for her.
