Jessica Sanchez does ballad version of her idol's dance hit song 'Sweet Dreams'
Jessica Sanchez once again impressed the judges and the audience of American Idol Season 11 when she sang her own version of her idol Beyonce Knowles's song "Sweet Dreams." The Filipino-Mexican-American teen sang Beyonce's dance hit in slow-tempo, ballad-style. Earlier during her mentoring session with resident mentor Jimmy Iovine and guest mentor Stevie Nicks, the former Fleetwood Mac singer was immediately impressed with the way Jessica turned Beyonce's fast song into a ballad. The legendary 70s singer gave Jessica an advice on how to sing a part of the song, but told the teen, "Don't do it if you don't love it." But Jessica said she loves Stevie's advice and she's going to follow it. The judges, impressed as usual, raved about how good Jessica's performance was. Here are some of their comments. Jennifer Lopez: "You left all of us wanting more, and that's what great performances do, they left you wanting more!" Steven Tyler: "You're a star no matter what!" Randy Jackson: "You just innately have this unbelievable talent I look forward to hearing you every night. I think you're one of the best singers I've ever heard in many years!" -- PEP.ph video clip from American Idol Season 11 which airs every Thursday and Friday on ETC
