The devastation that Typhoon Yolanda—known internationally as Haiyan—left in its wake has shocked the Philippines and the whole world over.

There are simply no words for the tragedy facing the entire nation as the casualty count continues to rise, and damage to infrastructure and properties amount to millions, maybe even billions, of pesos.

Rescue and relief operations continue to surge through the most affected areas, as local and international foundations have taken to organizing donations in order to sustain the much-needed efforts.

On this note, local celebrities prove that their stars indeed shine as they try to help out in every way possible—from being active in posting social media campaigns to organizing their own fund-raising drives.

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and husband Ogie Alcasid are currently preparing to auction their personal items to raise money for Yolanda’s victims.

An announcement was posted on November 10, via the singer’s official Instagram account @reginevalcasid:

“Hi guys I will be auctioning these bags a (number) of them i used just a couple of times only, proceeds will go to the Yolanda victims. Ayusin ko lang po kung pano natin gagawin 'to but in the mean time please follow my official fan page announcement will be there. Thank you guys. Let's do what we can to help our kababayans. #justkeeppraying”

Several items were subsequently posted on Regine’s IG page, which she said, will be included in the auction.

Free shipping is offered for the winning bidders, but there will be items that will come at a fixed price.

Her designer bags include rare Hermes Kelly bags, Chanel, and Celine to name a few.

Luxury footwear in size 6, Regine’s shoe size, come in Gucci, Christian Louboutin, and Prada among others.

Exquisitely detailed Cary Santiago gowns, as well as Regine’s butterfly ring and 18-karat gold “Regine” necklace with a solitary diamond, extend the generosity of the singer’s kind heart.

Ogie has also included in the auction some of his designer timepieces such as Bulgari and TW Steel.

The final list of items up for bidding, as well as the procedure for the event, are yet to be released and are still being worked out, according to the administrators at Regine’s official Facebook page.

All official announcements and the actual auction will be coursed through The RV Friends Official Facebook Page and Regine's Instagram account. - PEP.ph
