Carla Abellana paired with Tom Rodriguez in Karelasyon anniversary episode

Karelasyon host Carla Abellana gets to star in her first episode in the GMA-7 drama anthology for its anniversary episode this April 30.

What made this project even more special? She is paired with her rumored boyfriend Tom Rodriguez!

In the episode, Carla is in a seven-year relationship with Tom. However, she kept their relationship as a secret from her parents because she and her boyfriend come from different social classes.

“Seven years na sila together as a couple. Si Miriam, yung role that I play, yung nurse bale, well-off siya,' said Carla during the April 15 press conference for Karelasyon’s first anniversary.

“Mayaman po yung pamilya niya, e. So, tinatago niya sa family niya na bartender ang kanyang boyfriend.

“So naghihintay lang siya na pakasalan siya dahil seven years na sila together, matagal na.

“Tapos nabanggit pa sa kanya ng kasama niya sa trabaho na may seven-year itch, tapos napa-isip pa siya doon.”

“Medyo nahirapan lang siya, siyempre, [na] ipaglaban ang boyfriend niyang si Dennis, dahil isa siyang bartender. Nagtatagal na sila na hindi pa siya pinapakasalan.”

WORKING WITH TOM. Carla was asked by media reporters how it felt to work again with Tom.

The last time the two worked together was for the 2015 movie No Boyfriend Since Birth.

During that time, Carla and Tom were already rumored to be an item.

However, the 29-year old actress-TV host said that nothing has changed when it comes to their working style.

She said, “Okay naman. Wala namang nagbago.

“Kasi ang huli was a movie, for Regal. That was a year ago. Yung No Boyfriend Since Birth.

“Yun yung huling beses na nagkatrabaho kami. Wala namang pinagbago, same old.

“Maganda lang kasi pa-iba iba [yung ginagawa namin].

“With this, iba na naman. NBSB was rom-com, so varied yung [genre].”

Carla serves as the narrator of each Karelasyon episode.

However, this marks the first time that she would act in an episode.

She explained, “Kasi initially, kinuha po ako ng Karelasyon team as a host po talaga.

“Hindi naman po kaagad pumasok sa isip ko na, ‘Paano kung one day, ako naman yung umarte tapos iba naman yung maghost?’

“’Di yun pumasok kaagad, kasi nag-concentrate po ako talaga ng husto sa pag ho-host.”

She pointed out that in her episode, she won’t be seen delivering the spiels.

She said with a laugh, “Ang funny naman kung ako din magho-host!

“Ako din yung nag ku-kuwento tapos ako din [yung gumaganap]!”
