Janella's mom Jenine Desiderio reacts to tell-all about Elmo

Jenine Desiderio was greatly relieved after Janella Salvador spoke up about Elmo Magalona's alleged physical abuse against her daughter.

"I felt a great deal of relief after reading the articles containing Janella’s tell-all," she told Jojo Gabinete of PEP.ph in an exclusive interview.

"It’s like a huge rock has been lifted from my back and the darkness has been replaced with light. Now our wound can start healing," she added.

In a recent interview with The Philippine Star, Janella claimed that there had been two incidents where Elmo physically hurt her.

According to PEP, Elmo had personally visited Jenine three weeks ago, even before Janella's interview.

Elmo promised her that he will post a video of himself apologizing for his actions.

His failure to follow through might have been what prompted Janella to spill the beans, Jenine said.

"Elmo talked to me three weeks after the incident, after Star Magic [people] talked to him. That’s when he promised me to post a video apology of himself," she said.

"We waited for weeks but nothing came out so I guess that’s what prompted Janella to speak up," she added.

Jenine said she will continue to pray for both Janella's and Elmo's "individual journeys to healing." —Jessica Bartolome/JST, GMA News
