K-pop group UNIS, with Pinoy members, announces disbandment

UNIS is disbanding.

According to a report by Soompi, the K-pop girl group is set to conclude their activities on September 26 as their contract with F&F Entertainment ends.

"The company and the members have continuously discussed the contract period and the direction of their future activities. After thorough discussions, we have ultimately decided to conclude UNIS's official activities as a full group in accordance with the originally scheduled contract period," the agency said in a statement.

F & F Entertainment also thanked the members, "who have poured their passion and sincerity into creating countless performances and precious moments under the name UNIS."

"Although their official activities together as Unis will come to an end, we will also sincerely support the members as they embark on new beginnings, continue pursuing their dreams in their respective paths, and grow further," the agency said.

The company also thanked UNIS fans, EverAfter, "who have created an unforgettable, miraculous journey together with UNIS over the years."

UNIS was formed through the talent survival show, "Universe Ticket." They debuted on March 27, 2024, with their first mini album "We UNIS."

Filipinos Elisia and Gehlee, as well as Filipino-Korean Hyeonju, are part of the group. The other members are Nana, Kotoko, Yunha, Yoona, and Seowon.

UNIS' songs include "Superwoman," "Curious," and "Swicy." The Filipino members also covered BINI's "Pantropiko" in a medley for the YouTube channel, 1theK Originals. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
